Red dress

This is for an inspiration challenge over at my favourite forum In love with stamping. Where the lovely Kate gave this gorgeous little picture for inspiration. I used cameo coral and garden green textured card stock. The colour combination works well together and it's not what I would usually use.
Thanks for all your lovely comments yesterday too, they really do make me have the biggest smile :D

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

You're my inspiration

Upon my return a few days ago , I checked my emails and was thrilled and a little bit surprised to receive an email from a lovely lady, Dawn who asked me if she could feature my blog on her wonderful site Inspirational. I still get genuinely amazed that people like my work but I am my own harshest critic and was so touched to be asked as the other sites featured on there are amazing.

Thought I'd show you another little flower pot card but made this time with pastel colours for a different look.

Hope you can pop over and have a look, have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Didn't we have a loverly time.........

....the week we went to Cornwall hee hee. What a great holiday and glorious weather we had. Lots of swimming, walking and eating cream teas etc. We travelled to Port Isaac, Padstow and St Ives, where a pesky seagull nicked my rum and raisin ice cream - the swine lol. Such a beautiful part of the world and if anyone is thinking of moving down there, I may have found a definite gap in the market as there were NO CRAFT SHOPS ANYWHERE!

But we had lots of fun and apparently there were famous people in Port Isaac the day we went as they were filming a new series of Doc Martin there. I haven't got a clue as I don't watch much telly, but my mother -in law informed us it was the dopey policeman and the headmistress?

Great to be back, have a great day & see you tomorrow x

I'm home today, I think, what I mean to say is, if this thing posts in the order I set it, otherwise I'm talking to myself which is nothing new for me lol. Hopefully by now I have at least ; a, eaten five cream teas - I know I am such a tourist for cream teas , b, swam in the pool and at the beach and c, laughed out loud a lot, I'm a simple girl really and that's enough for me.

Sing something simple

What a surprise, kraft card stock just for a change, hee hee. I needed a couple of uber simple ones this week as I'm away and adore these rub-ons. Although I have to confess they don't like me so much, as whenever I get them out they seem to stick to everything, me, the table etc. I have to blame myself though as I am such a messy crafter, I have the whole dining room table to myself and seem to end up with 4 square inches of actual work space, lol.

Have a great day, wish you were here & see you tomorrow xx

Song sung blue

A little simple number here, but the most gorgeous colours, tempting turquoise ;) Kate and rose red. I love the names Stampin' Up! give their colours but it does give men a headache generally. Not only do they have to get the colour in the first place, "it's blue?" nooooooo, I look at him disapprovingly. Ok, maybe they get turquoise, but then we add a whole new thing to it by adding another name to the colour too - poor blokes hee hee.

Still having a great day, hope you are too & see you tomorrow.

Supplies from Stampin' Up! - Stamps: (US) so many scallops, card stock: tempting turquoise, rose red & whisper white. Ink: tempting turquoise & rose red, ribbon: tempting turquoise narrow grosgrain. Paper: petals & paisleys designre series paper. Misc: rose red brads.

They call it mellow yellow

Still with fingers crossed your getting these babies, hopefully where I am is as sunny the day I took this picture. There are no artificial additives on this, apart from the soft edges and the name. This was inspired slightly by the one of the cards from the Stampin' Up! mini catalogue.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

P.s. I forgot to say Kate, did you see me? the large lady with the long wild hair, waving madly out the window as we passed Taunton in the bat-mobile LOL.

HELP! I need somebody

Oh my goodness, what a day and night, phew. It got so bad my husband sent, no ordered my to lie down in a dark room I was hyperventilating so much LOL. My computer was DEAD, for the last 24 hours nearly. I do not know what happened, I tried the usual turning it on and off, defrag, disk clean up, everything but no logging on to anything.

After much stressing & panicking on my part my hubbie said listen there's nothing we can do tonight, let's try again in the morning. I was a little sad because I had kept a clean record for the last few months and had posted daily. After much twiddling by my husband all morning, he also threatened it with a hammer! at one point he fixed it enough for me to post - hoorah!

I am now totally exhausted and need another lie down in a dark room with all the worry lol and I am going away next week aaarrrrggghhh! (sorry about the picture too but there was no way I was even attempting to go into to photo editing.

Have a great day & hopefully see you tomorrow xx

He was a skater boy

Be gentle, what do you think ? As I've previously mentioned my little dude bought a few copics for my birthday and I have also added a few myself. I now own the massive amount of 11 copics, I know I'll be here til next Christmas collecting them hoo. This is my first real attempt at colouring with them and I have to admit yes I need lots more for the shading and everything but I quite like it.

This is for a very good friend of my son, whose birthday it will be on my return from holiday next week. We are going on a sort of charabanc to Cornwall, all the family in the mystery machine hee hee, heading for the coast.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Just one look

Well this is unashamedly a case of a card from a very talented lady, Kristina Werner here. There is a lot of debate about casing, but I am from the camp that says we're all here to share and enjoy each other's work as long as you give credit to the original artiste. I have to say that I would be very flattered if anyone cased me. I usually can't get away with her style but when I saw the card I knew I had to try it.

Would also like to mention another super talented lady - Claire Brennan, it does not seem enough to say she oozes creativity and has some of the most amazing work out there, but is so thoughtful & kind too. But I would like to give her a little mention as she has just launched her own design stamps and at the moment is revealing some exclusive sneak peaks of her new sets - it's so exciting!

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

You spin me right round

Ok, so I think I have gone truly mad. You know when you look at something and think a, could it work and b, can I get away with it? Hee hee. Well that's what I thought when hubby and son brought the thingamajig (see picture below and have a go at naming it if you like) home after a trip to the early learning centre. You know it's one of those spiral spin around madly with a pen thing? So I get out a cameo coral Stampin' Up! marker and gave it a whirl! What do you think?

Anyway it's for another great challenge over at a passion for papertrey. I know , I've done another one!

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Three little birds

I knew as soon as I saw the template for this cute little bird house I had to try it. I would like to give a huuuuuuuge thank you to the amazing Nichole Heady for the free downloadable template found here. You can make one of these little houses in next to no time (well for anybody else who isn't like me and goes on fuss overdrive on everything hee hee) thanks to her template.

I would also like to thank the super ladies over at a passion for papertrey. I entered this card here for one of their excellent challenges and guess what I didn't win but I still got a prize - how brilliant is that, so thank you ladies, I can't tell how much it made my day. If you can imagine, Kate & Steph, I am wildly kissing & hugging the screen LOL!

Roses are red dilly dilly

I love this colour, it's called rose red and looks lovely with all sorts of colour combinations, but I kept it simple here. Made a little set of doodads for the crafty fayre, one little key chain post-it-note and larger clip holder one (tutorial here) and my own design note book (template here).

Free as a bird

Mmmm, I love these colours, for some reason they remind of a kingfisher. Maybe it has to with all the Spring Watch I have been watching over the last few weeks! I have just a lovely day at the Mumbles craft fayre, with a bit of crazy golf and chips on the sea front thrown in. I had a nosey at the craft fayre, which was held at a quaint old hall, where I was very brave and chatted to some of the ladies at their stalls, who were really friendly. I have put my name down to do one next month - so we'll see how it goes!

Nobody knows the trouble

Well the first thing on my list to get is a set of circle nesties as you wouldn't believe the trouble I had cutting this card out. The problem was , I wanted perfect circles and without the nesties it's pretty hard to achieve if you cut them out by hand. In the end I had a brain wave and thought 'what this card needs is a bit of distressing' and so solved the problem of them needing to be 'perfect'.

This is for a challenge (I've got one right, hoorah! I hear you cry) over at A passion for papertrey, where the lovely ladies, Kate & Steph asked us to produce a circle card. I had a go, which in itself is an achievement for me , but I'm not sure if I like the card - hey ho.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Supplies from Papertreyink: leaf buttons and the rest were a present :D so haven't got a clue of the details sorry ). Dream stamp from stash.

Mistakes, I've made a few

I have really got to stop blog hopping when it's : A late and B when I'm tired, because with my brain it's bound to end up in disaster. I 'll explain, I popped around to Stamp with us site, a great challenge & inspiration site for Stampin Up, this weeks theme was (or so I thought) celebration and hence the card I made above.

This morning on my usual hop I was seeing some lovely cards that people had entered for this week's Stamp with us theme and it suddenly dawned on me that everyone's cards had something to do with congratulations - doh! and not celebration. Anyway I think it's a pretty card, but yet again I have failed to actually submit a card and this is beginning to become a bit of a habit for me hee hee - hey ho.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Paperback writer

I had my sponges out for a little play to make this bookmark for a Father's Day gift earlier on in the week. The book (or prop), just in case anyone is as "interested" or as geeky as my husband, is The name of the rose by Umberto Eco and it cost him ten pence in a second hand book shop (maybe too much information there, hee hee). I've seen the film, it's the one with Sean Connery and a very young Christian Slater as monks - great story.

Pretty in pink

Some of you are probably thinking this is very familiar. Is it cheating that this card gets its own post but I am on a daily posting challenge with myself and I loved the little boy one I did a few days ago so much, I did one in pink hee hee!

This weekend I am going (for the first time as it is a bit of a trek for me) to a crafty market. I may do one in the future, depends on what the competition is like (if it's too good maybe not - chicken I hear you cry, ha!). Will let you know if I find any kindred spirits there ( they've go to be hiding somewhere in South Wales, c'mon Swansea show your crafty self to me LOL!).

Sweet like chocolate

Ok so you've probably noticed I've had the stapler out on the last couple of projects -I quite like it. This wedding cake stamp was stamped onto kraft with a brown ink - I think it looks a little like chocolate sponge, mmmmm. My best friend Rhian had a 3 tiered chocolate covered cake at her wedding, it was delish.

Blinded by the light

Ok I know the colours may be a bit scary Mary for you and I thought the same at first when the idea for this card came to me. But it really has some zing to it in real life , it's so way off left field from what I usually do, I like it. The sketch was taken from my favourite forum ILWS where the lovely Morwena posts regular sketches to inspire us.

Feeling a lot better today and would like to say a big thank you to you for the well wishes.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

When I'm feeling blue

Don't stand too close as I have the dreaded lurgy! I've got the hots, the colds and the septic tonsils. Which all together make me feel generally bleh ! This milk carton gift set was made a few days earlier to go with the card from yesterday for no particular reason, only that I love making them and had not done a baby boy one. Check out this post for the baby girl one and details of where I had the template from.

I'm off to bed for a hot date with a lemsip and a hot water bottle ha !

Little blue

I love this little guy, he's so cute and was one of those bargain 99p stamps from somewhere. But stamping him onto to some quality paper from Stampin Up he looks really good, I think, oh goodness don't get me started on scrutinising my work, stop it Emma lol!

Weather's cooling down a bit now ( am I aloud to say thanks goodness) it was a bit too hot for me. Although the scamp had our back garden turned into a little holiday park, with pools, slides, barbecues etc - lots of fun though.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Cockles and mussels

Ok tenuous title link time. So the theme of the card was scallops and got to thinking about my title. Hmm, scallops, in the background of my brain came floating the song cockles and mussels alive, alive ho and thought yeah that'll do, their all crustaceans sort of LOL!

This was an uber simple card really just to show off one of my birthday presents from last week. Is it wrong to love a piece of metal ? Because if it is I'm in trouble. This is a spellbinders pierceabilities die - one word, gorgeous, and I have only had a little play. The possibilities with this are going to be amazing - can't wait to have a proper go.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Fly away with me

This card was inspired by the recent purchase of ' cards' the magazine. Now I haven't had a magazine since discovering Stampin Up and belonging to one of the best forums around - In love with stamping, along with some of the most fantastic friends I have made, I had all the inspiration I ever would need. Until I came across a thread on the forum about this magazine where everyone was raving about it ( you naughty girls always getting me into trouble hee hee). One trip into town a few days later, I had a quick nosey in WHSmith at the mag, oohhh it was lovely -pure heaven on those glossy pages.

The original card was made by Heather Bowser and as soon as I saw her card I had to make my own version ( I tried googling her - ouch that's sounds painful, but could not find if she had a blog or anything to give her full credit). I used different stamps and also a different type of fold on mine. Hope you like ;)

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Ladybug ball

More ladybirds for my upcoming sale, getting a bit nervous now eek! It feels that I am leading a double life since starting my blog. This is because I haven't told any family, colleagues or local friends about it. It's like 'by day she is the mild mannered medical secretary and by night she is Super Blogger!!' well not quite but you know what I mean. I think I was a bit unsure how all of this would go and of course if I liked doing it and I do - I love it.

If you would like to make one of those cute little notebooks I have my own instructions here.
Keep on shining Mr Sun, have a great day & see you tomorrow x

Supplies from Stampin Up - Card stock: Basic black, real red and kraft. Paper: Dashing designer series paper (retired). Ribbon: Real red wide grosgrain. Other - Black paper twill from Ikea, black ribbon from stash, 1" book rings, black and white gel pen from stash.

Lavender's green

Post party paper, ribbons and pens are all used to make a this little wedding card for my stash. Now for my birthday I had this beautiful paper and ribbon from the lovely Kate and my son bought me a sort of taster copic set (only five pens - just to try). So limiting myself just to the five copic colours on a card, it was a happy accident they co-ordinated beautifully with the papers and ribbons.

I am back at work now :( but I don't mind because only another three weeks 'til I'm off again hee hee. Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Supplies - Papertreyink: Ribbon & paper. Stampin Up - Stamp: Botanical blooms & cheer and wishes. Card stock: Perfect plum, whisper white & pale plum. Other: Memento black tuxedo ink, copics, white brads, versarmark ink, wedding cake stamp from fouronezero.

Pop, pop, pop music

This little popcorn box was made from the beautiful gifts I received for my birthday from the lovely Kate. This box was inspired by a recent outing with my Mum, who took my son to the local KFC as a treat. He had a kid's meal which contained a little box of chicken popcorn. My husband bless him, always thinking of me brought home the box, as he thought I might like it (what a weird gift you maybe thinking lol). I deconstructed it and thought hmm, I could do that. If you see below it was easy just to trace round it , add some score lines and voila.

Have you had any great and weird finds like this one from the most unlikely objects?

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

p.s the lovely Aimes (check her out now before she gets too famous !) asked about the distressing I did on a couple of my cards yesterday. I use an old pair of scissors and open the blades and using just one side of it drag it down the paper / card repeatedly until I get the desired effect - hope it helps x

Supplies (I am doing a lot of guessing as they were a gift) - Papertreyink raspberry fizz paper & ribbon. Stampin Up: Whisper white card stock, misc: linen thread. Misc: Black stazon, pink chalk, sentiment from stash.
